All dog owners are responsible for the actions of their dogs this includes the biting end and the pooping end. I own a dog care (Home Boarding) business and engage a specialist “poop” man to dispose of any waste in my garden. We also carry poop bags when out on walks. If we want our animals and ourselves to be accepted and loved by the community that we live in we have to scoop the poop.

Good luck with your efforts.

It's interesting that you're devoting a whole blog to dog poop - any city that has off leash parks is going to have a problem with dog poop. I've got a dog blog about the city I live in - Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada - and I've devoted quite a few blog posts to the subject, because it's been a bone of contention - especially to users of our multi-use parks that are not dog owners. My theory is that just dog poop is litter just like every type of litter - and just because you can assign a demographic to that litter doesn't mean you should make that whole demographic suffer - ie ban that whole demographic from services that they pay for with their taxes simply because a segment is non-compliant. I'm not condoning that people don't pick up - I'm just being realistic. Here in Canada we have a very popular coffee shop - Tim Horton's - and people throw their Tim Horton's cups everywhere - and no one would ever suggest banning customers of Tim Horton's from our public parks - but yet dog owners are constantly under the threat of being banned from public spaces because a small number of owners don't pick up.

I have a category on my blog for dog poop at http://dogkisser.blogspot.com/search/label/Dog%20Poop - but my favourite posts are at "What's the difference between litter and poop?" http://dogkisser.blogspot.com/2008/06/whats-difference-between-litter-and.html and "What to do about the poop problem" http://dogkisser.blogspot.com/2008/05/what-to-do-about-poop-problem.html and a comment left about Point Pleasant and poop - http://dogkisser.blogspot.com/2008/06/comment-left-about-point-pleasant-park.html
