These pics are on 15th, south of Cottontail Park. It's also a pretty reliable 'prolific' stretch.

We've been meaning to post about 'the invisible poo people', the fact that we actually see few poo cowards at the moment they walk away. So it's nice to hear about your face to face encounter. I'd like to feel all warm and fuzzy for their doing the right thing this time, but I'm guessing that next time they're just going to be more sneaky.

Maybe South Poop could have a rogues gallery of some sort...

I love this site. I might have missed it but where is that stretch of sidewalk? There are certain stretches in the neighborhood that are prolific regarding poo abandonment. In my immediate area the most popular landing zone is the east side of Federal between 13th and 14th. Almost everybody picks up after their dogs BTW. But, just last night I was lucky enough to confront a dog owner in violation of City Ordinance 98-20 while I was walking my own dog. The person went through the typical denial motions. "I'm going to get a bag from the can" even though the dispenser has been empty for about a year. "I forgot my bag" even though she was walking TWO dogs. This dog owner knows better. Well, I had an extra bag handy. She ultimately reclaimed her poo. Happy enough ending. It's a pain but let's everybody keep their eyes open and remind the occasional negligent dog owner of their responsibility.

In reply to According to Gus.

Well, it was just a guess! By far most dog people I know around here (Chicago) do pick up - it would be really awkward if one of our dog friends didn't, I think - so I was just playing with the idea that it was, at least, someone new. Underlying that is another hypothesis - that a lot of problems arise from just one owner in the neighborhood. So if there's a bad owner around, you get a lot of poo along an area, if that owner moves away, the poo problem, there, disappears. Then, someday, it appears somewhere else...

We're going to try to keep an eye on this stretch of sidewalk... ;-)

The sad part is that it's probably not someone new to dogs. I see people (the same people) often as I'm driving through my neighborhood let their dog poo wherever, and then keep walking. It's infuriating.
